My name is Ian Perry, and I am a Lecturer;
- for the Business School of the University of Hull, based at the University's Scarborough Campus.
When I am not working for the University, I;
- act as a Web Reseller, do some Web Development, play a number of On-line Games, and dabble in Digital Photography & Photo Manipulation.
I am getting pretty good, i.e. with the use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS); and heartily recommend the following books:
- 'Eric Meyer on CSS' & 'More Eric Myer on CSS' (which take a 'project' approach to learning CSS)
- The CSS Anthology (3rd Edition) (which provides a good reference as to how to achieve various CSS effects)
However, if you really want to see what can be achieved using CSS, then have a look at the following amazing Web-site; where the same HTML code has been manipulated by some very clever CSS files, in order to produce very different results:
I have to admit, that I am not, quite, up to this standard of CSS implementation yet, however, I have finally managed to remove all of the tables from this Web-site;
- and you should find, if you re-visit this Web-site tomorrow, that the colour scheme has changed, as a result of a relatively simple translation (into VBScript) of the JavaScript-based CSS Style Switcher tutorial, by Dem Pilafian.
