I have always enjoyed playing on-line games such as Quake (versions I & II) and Half-Life (mainly 'mods' such as Team Fortress Classic, Counter-Strike & Day of Defeat); I then moved on to Half-Life 2 (usually in 'Team Deathmatch' mode), then to Counter-Strike: Source (where my on-line gaming persona was 'IanP'), then Battlefield; where I played both Battlefield 2 ( as '1anP') and Battlefield 2142. (as 'IanP2142').
I then 'discovered' America's Army, a very realistic (aka difficult!) first person shooter (FPS), which I play as 'IanP';
- please note: although this game is 'free' to download it is a BIG download (i.e. just short of 2Gb), you have been warned!
Most recently, I have been playing Operation Flashpoint - Dragon Rising (also 'known' as Flashpoint 2), which I also play as 'IanP';
- I made the mistake of buying this via download; and it took more that 10 hours before the 4.39Gb of files had been delivered to my PC!
Some people say I should get out more, but I do, almost every night ;-).
- Please say 'Hi' if you should find me on line.
Speaking of games, you might like to have a go at my shockwave version of that old classic "The Lunar Lander".
I have been programming versions of The Lunar Lander since 1980, when I first implemented it on a Hewlett Packard programmable calculator; since then I have programmed Lunar Lander's in a wide variety of programming languages, including; Unix Shell Script, C, and Visual Basic.
Try typing "Lunar Lander" as the Keywords to search for in any Search Engine, and you will find links to many other versions of this excellent game (most of which are implemented in Java or Flash).
