I have been involved in the development of a number Web-sites for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs). When I say 'involved', that does not always mean to say that I build & maintain these Web-sites myself.
My Preferred Way of Working
Whilst I am quite happy (time permitting) to manage the whole Web-site development process for you, my preferred way of working is to:
-
help my clients to understand what type of 'Web-Presence' might be most suitable for their business.
-
develop an initial prototype for the Web-site, and make any modifications before 'going live'.
-
purchase a suitable Domain Name and find a host for the Web-site (both of which I can do, acting as a Web Reseller).
-
upload the Web-pages and test the 'live' Web-site thoroughly.
-
train the client so that they can maintain the content of their Web-pages for themselves.
-
train the client so that they can modify the structure of their Web-site for themselves.
Moving On?
Once you have the confidence to do things for yourself, then I am 'happy' for you to take your business elsewhere. For example:
I no longer maintain the Web-sites a number of my most successful clients; i.e. The Flight Shop, The Cruise Shop, and the RD Group, who, over a number of years, have moved from a total dependence upon Web Development and Web-site Hosting, as provided by itsy.co.uk, to a state of total independence.
Another of my clients (i.e. Fountains Court: Holistic Health Hotel) have 'moved on'; by contracting their Web-site Development & Hosting to another Company; although I still maintain the registration of their Domain Name.
